Guilford Security Patrol
Since 1992 the Guilford Security Patrol has played an integral role in maintaining the safety and security of our neighborhood. The service is managed by residents who volunteer their time. Securitas, Inc., a leading worldwide security company, is the contract organization that provides guards and patrol cars.
The operating budget for the service is funded by the residents of Guilford through the Guilford Association. Residents participate by paying the $300 annual fee and becoming GSP members. We encourage all residents to join both for the service offered and because increasing the participation rate will enable increased patrols and additional guards to be added.
All residents of Guilford are able to call on Securitas in the event of a security concern and the entire neighborhood benefits from the patrols. In addition, for members Securitas provides many services beyond patrolling the streets, including escorting members to their homes, providing escorts if neighbors are walking between homes late at night and checking members' homes when they are out of town.
Security Patrol Phone Numbers
GSP guards: If you need to contact a guard, call 443-677-9103. We urge you to program the GSP phone number into your cell phone and home phone.
Vacation Requests: If you would like Securitas to check on your home when you are away, you will need to call 443-436-3247 at least three to four days in advance of your departure and leave your name, address, phone number and the dates of your departure and return on this voice mail line. The call should be made by 5:00 PM on Fridays. Each time a guard stops to inspect your home, the guard will leave a small slip of paper indicating the date, time and results of their inspection. (As indicated above, vacation service is available to residents who have paid the annual member fee.)
